Product Description

Product Description

This series of single‑mode fiber patch cords uses ITU‑T G.652D or bend‑insensitive G.657A2 fiber (9/125 µm). Connector options include SC, FC, LC, and hybrid SC‑LC. Both simplex (1‑fiber) and duplex (2‑fiber) versions are available. All cords are factory terminated with precision zirconia ceramic ferrules, UPC or APC polishing, and are 100% optically tested. Jacket material LSZH or PVC, diameter 2.0 mm or 3.0 mm, operating temperature –40 °C to +85 °C.

Key Advantages

Connector durability

SC: push‑pull latching, ≥1000 mating cycles, robust for frequent patching.

FC: threaded stainless steel body, vibration resistant, best for high‑vibration environments.

LC: snap‑in latch with 1.25 mm ferrule, compact but equally durable (≥1000 cycles), ideal for high‑density panels.

Simplex vs. duplex topology

Duplex (two fibers) : dedicated Tx and Rx paths; used with standard SFP transceivers for full‑duplex communication.

Simplex (single fiber) : used with BiDi (Bidirectional) transceivers where one fiber carries both upstream and downstream wavelengths              (e.g., 1310 nm / 1550 nm), saving fiber count.

Ultra‑low insertion loss (≤0.3 dB) and high return loss (UPC ≥50 dB, APC ≥60 dB).

G.657A2 bend‑insensitive fiber (static bend radius ≥10 mm) for tight installations.

RoHS, CE, IEC 60794, ITU‑T compliant.

FAQ
Q:

How can I quickly distinguish single‑mode from multimode patch cords by appearance?

A:
Jacket color: Yellow = single‑mode; Orange = multimode OM3.
Connector ferrule color: Single‑mode often blue (UPC) or green (APC); multimode often beige/off‑white or black.
Cable print: clearly states “SM” or “MM”, “9/125” or “50/125”
Q:

What is the core difference between single‑mode and multimode fiber patch cords?

A:
Single‑mode (e.g., LF002‑LF008, LF010): Core size 9/125μm, G.652D or G.657A2 fiber, operating at 1310/1490/1550nm, designed for long‑distance, high‑bandwidth transmission.
Multimode (e.g., LF009, LF011): Core size 50/125μm (OM3), operating at 850nm, designed for short distances (≤300m at 10G), typically used in data centers and enterprise LANs.
Q:

How to choose between simplex and duplex single‑mode fiber patch cords?

A:
Simplex cords are used with BiDi transceivers, where one fiber carries both upstream and downstream wavelengths, saving fiber count. Duplex cords are used with standard transceivers, providing dedicated Tx and Rx paths for full‑duplex communication. Choose duplex if your equipment has separate Tx/Rx ports; choose simplex if it supports BiDi.
Q:

Can I split a duplex patch cord into two simplex cords?

A:
Physically possible but not recommended. Duplex cords have fixed polarity (A‑B). Splitting may damage the boot and cause mis‑matching of Tx/Rx pairs. For simplex applications, purchase dedicated simplex cords.
