Product Description

Tumtec V3 Fiber Optic Fusion Splicer

The Tumtec V3 is a single-fiber fusion splicer for installing and repairing optical-fiber links. Its source-listed configuration includes a 4.3-inch touchscreen, 400X fiber view, 6-second SM fast splice mode and a 5200mAh battery rated for about 400 splice-and-heat cycles.

Where the V3 fits

For distributors supplying field technicians, network contractors and fiber maintenance teams, the V3 combines splicing, sleeve heating and field-oriented controls in one portable platform. Check the fiber construction, coating diameter and operating environment against the specification table before quoting it for a project.

Key features for field teams

  • Supports single-fiber splicing for SM, MM, DS, NZ/NZDS and BI fiber types listed in the supplied specification sheet.
  • 41 preset splice modes, with capacity to store up to 100 modes; five preset sleeve lengths from 20 to 60 mm, with up to 100 heating modes.
  • Three white work lights, a 90-degree bi-directional display and a detachable multi-function fiber clamp.
  • Automatic arc calibration based on air pressure and temperature; control by buttons or touchscreen.
  • Typical battery rating: approximately 400 splice-and-heat cycles per charge, as stated in the supplied sheet.

B2B buying checklist

  • Confirm the fiber types and cable construction used in your projects, including whether indoor cable is within the stated 0.25–3.0 mm range.
  • Match the heat-shrink sleeve length to the 20–60 mm heater capability.
  • Ask for the current included-accessory list and confirm any optional CFS-2 or WX-1101 strippers, holders and battery configuration before purchase.
  • For distributor orders, confirm firmware/version, warranty terms, training materials, spare electrodes and service route on the quotation.

FAQ
Q:

Which fiber types are listed for the Tumtec V3?

A:
The supplied sheet lists SM G.652, MM G.651, DS G.653, NZ/NZDS G.655 and BI G.657 fiber. Match the exact fiber and cable construction to the job before ordering.
Q:

How fast does the V3 splice?

A:
The listed 6-second time applies to SM fiber in FAST mode. Actual field cycle time also depends on preparation, alignment, splice settings and sleeve heating.
Q:

How many splice-and-heat cycles does its battery support?

A:
The 5200mAh battery is rated for approximately 400 splice-and-heat cycles under typical conditions in the supplied specification sheet. Operating conditions and battery age can affect field results.
Q:

What should distributors confirm before quoting?

A:
Confirm fiber type, coating and cable diameter, sleeve length, included accessories, warranty and the target operating environment. Request the current package configuration with each quotation.
